From San Antonio to Alaska, QFK Connects Quilters
Barb Lucas, San Antonio Military Chapter Leader, and Jessica, her Alaskan connection, finally meet.
San Antonio Military Chapter’s most far-flung member has come home from Alaska. Some time ago Chapter Leader, Barb Lucas, wrote that she had a quilter in the military in Alaska that wanted to quilt for her. Barb welcomed Jessica to the chapter via email and laughed about having a member so far away.
Turns out, Jessica is “wounded warrior” and is retiring due to medical issues.
Barb writes, “Jessica and her family arrived in San Antonio last week, and because there was a gap between the time they could stay in temporary quarters and the availability of their apartment, they ended up staying with us….with three kids! We had never met before, but QFK and the military brought us together!”
