Way up North in Alaska, a Christmas Delivery

Tammy prepares to hand over the quilts to Nurse Tobi, pictured below. Tammy's daughter Elizabeth also lent a hand, seen in the next photo below.

Alaska Chapter Leader, Tammy Reinert, and her daughter, Elizabeth delivered 46 quilts in Anchorage to Children’s Hospital at Providence in a snowstorm 3 days before Christmas, driving 2-1/2 hours one way!

Tammy writes, “All 46 quilts were made by just ONE fabulous woman, Mary Ellen Houser of Soldotna, Alaska, down on the Kenai Penninsula. You won’t get photos of us sewing together, since she lives 300 miles away from me!  Don’t forget, you can fit 2 1/2 “Texases” into our boundaries of Alaska! Nobody lives close together up here; we’re really spread out!  We sew in our cabins, yurts, or houses in the 6 hours of daylight in deep winter and before we know it, it’s spring and the sun never sets!

Nurse Tobi said that Santa was going to pass out the quilts, along with many donated toys on Christmas Eve!
