Among brightly colored polka-dots and stripes are blocks containing drawings and names of the children.

Following her family’s tradition of helping others, Layton Kravet and her classmates in Mrs. Pappas’s Pre-K class at the Green Vale School in Old Brookville, New York, selected the fabrics and designed a quilt to comfort a child in need.

Kravet has been instrumental in the growth of QFK from the time that founder, Linda Arye, first had the idea to start a charity using discontinued fabric samples.

“Board member, Ellen Kravet, and the entire Kravet family have been there from the start,” Linda relates.  “Without their help we could not have grown as fast as we have.  It’s great to see that the next generation of Kravets have the same committment to QFK.  Thank you to Layton and her class for their desire to help comfort children in need through the gift of their patchwork quilt.  It will be loved and held tight by the recipient.”
